Handmade and hand-painted, the Kanto features an attractive Koi motif picked out in blue and white on a rustic stoneware body and lid. The word fish in Mandarin also means abundance so this bold design is considered to symbolise good fortune prosperity and success.
This one has found its way into the Perfectly Imperfect Collection as it has firing mark on the body of the jar and the lid has also becone discoloured during the firing process. It would still make a lovely rustic vessel for freshly cut garden flowers and foliage.
